Today was the first day of school. We broke out all of the new school supplies, backpacks, new shoes and clothes for the big day.
Tanner is in 5th Grade this year. His last year of grade school!!! Oh my gosh!!!

Calder is in 4th Grade this year. This was his first day at the Upper Elementary building. He was pretty nervous this morning, but tells me it was lots of fun today.

Makenna has moved up to the Middle Elementary building and is now in 2nd Grade. This is her first year without mom at school, so it was a little different for her to be dropped off instead of walking in with mom.

Tearney is in First Grade. This will be her last year at the Primary building. She hasn't ever had to go to school by herself since Makenna was with her last year, so it was a little different.

This began my eighth year as school nurse. Sometimes it seems like forever ago, and then other days it seems like just yesterday that I was trying to figure this whole thing out. I guess that is how life seems to go. Those "firsts" are always exciting--especially when you start your day at a K-1 building. I also get to watch those former Kindergarten and 1st graders all grown up at the end of the day, as that is when I move to the High School. They really aren't all that different---they have their new school supplies and shoes, and they are just as nervous, just in a bigger package.
All in all, it was a good day. Hope the rest of the school year follows right along with how the first day went!
