Football Games!

Tanner and Calder started off the 09-10 Football Season at Rock Creek. It was an early morning for us since Calder played in the 8:30 am game. I am not sure where the August weather was, but it was more like an October morning today. I think I will have to dress better next time!!

The boys had a good time, even though the outcomes were not in our favor. They are both ready for their next games. Should be lots of fun!

Tanner is #2.

Calder is #44:

First Day of School!

Today was the first day of school. We broke out all of the new school supplies, backpacks, new shoes and clothes for the big day.

Tanner is in 5th Grade this year. His last year of grade school!!! Oh my gosh!!!
Calder is in 4th Grade this year. This was his first day at the Upper Elementary building. He was pretty nervous this morning, but tells me it was lots of fun today.

Makenna has moved up to the Middle Elementary building and is now in 2nd Grade. This is her first year without mom at school, so it was a little different for her to be dropped off instead of walking in with mom.

Tearney is in First Grade. This will be her last year at the Primary building. She hasn't ever had to go to school by herself since Makenna was with her last year, so it was a little different. This began my eighth year as school nurse. Sometimes it seems like forever ago, and then other days it seems like just yesterday that I was trying to figure this whole thing out. I guess that is how life seems to go. Those "firsts" are always exciting--especially when you start your day at a K-1 building. I also get to watch those former Kindergarten and 1st graders all grown up at the end of the day, as that is when I move to the High School. They really aren't all that different---they have their new school supplies and shoes, and they are just as nervous, just in a bigger package.

All in all, it was a good day. Hope the rest of the school year follows right along with how the first day went!

Another year.....

So, today marks another year older for me. (I am not telling just how many years that makes me!!) I got the best gift in the world today--my kids told me, "Mom, happy birthday, I love you!" I got birthday hugs and kisses (nice wet sloppy ones from Jentree and Mylee), and the older four helped to pick up the house for me. All in all, a good day!

A Little Can-Can

Makenna and Tearney both participated in a Can-Can Clinic this weekend. They had a great time, and had fun enjoying all of the activities in Old A-Town today.

The old Alamo Saloon. Makenna asked me, "Were the cowboys around when you were little mom?" Nice.

Getting some Sasaparilla from the bar.

The girls can-canning away:

Waiting for the gun fight to start. Calder and Tearney went to sit in the car--they don't like the loud noise!

Happy 8th Birthday Makenna!!!

Can you believe Makenna turned 8 years old today? I sure cannot believe it! On this day, I finally got a little girl to wear the little pink dress I had been holding on to. Of course, I love my boys, but I didn't think their dad would appreciate me bringing them home from the hospital in a little pink dress!

Her very first dance recital to the song, "Baby, take a bow."
Her first day of Kindergarten. She was so excited!

With two of her very favorite people in the world. Thanks for visiting me on my birthday!!

As I went through the pictures looking for shots of her as she has grown, it just makes me smile to look at how much she has changed. It is so true that it goes fast, and just looking at all of her pictures sure reminds me of that. I hope the next 8 years go much slower than the first 8. :-)

Happy Birthday sweetheart! We love you!

Family Photo Time

We had family pictures at church last weekend for the church directory. Since everyone was clean, had their hair done and was dressed appropriately, I didn't want to waste the moment!! It had been raining, but had stopped and the light was overcast. Perfect for pictures!! We headed to the park to hopefully get a few good shots.

To take our family poses, I set my camera to the automatic option and after getting everything set, I run to my spot. The kids think it is pretty funny, and that helps keep Jentree and Mylee occupied. Not sure what Makenna was doing here, but otherwise, I liked this one.

I let each of the kids pick a spot to take their picture. They had fun scouting out spots that they liked.

As you can see, the flowers were beautiful. They made a great backdrop.

Stub conspired with the kids while I was getting the camera all set. They were all laughing and couldn't wait for me to download the pictures and see this one.
