Happy 10th Birthday Calder!

Officially double digits for Calder! It has been a fast 10 years, so I want the next 10 to slow down!
Whether he is playing sports, watching TV, or just hanging out, Calder is the first one to help out with anything. He is so willing to do things--always answering, "Sure!"

What a caring big brother he is--even when he was SO mad at me when I brought home a girl baby instead of the brother he wanted so badly! I remember him asking at the hospital the day Jentree was born, "So, can we come back next week and get a brother?" He just could not understand why I would do such a thing to him (and he really, really was upset with me!) I think he has gotten over it now, as he is soo good with his little sisters. They love him to pieces, and he is so good with the little ones.

We love you Calder!! Hope you have a wonderful day!!

You Just Never Know...

The school counselor told me about a game that he was playing in the classrooms today to teach the kids about good sportsmanship and positive winning and losing behaviors. He was using cards and dice and handing out pencils to use as well. He explained the premise of the game and then told the kids (all 1st graders) the rules of the game. After he finished explaining, a little voice said, "So, it's just like playing poker!" And then shortly thereafter the little voice said in a quiet voice, "But, we aren't using money, are we?" Oh so funny. Then, he proceeded to tell me the child who was oh so wise.

Tearney.

Chalk that one up for proud parenting moments. Oh. My.

Snow Fort Fun!

The kids decided to take advantage of the snow in our yard, and make it into something useful:
A snow fort! They had a great time building it, then getting to try it out in an old fashioned snow ball fight. Not sure who exactly won--it kind of depends on who you talk to!

Happy 2010!!!

We celebrated New Year's Eve with great friends. There was lots of food, noise, singing, games and fun.

Playing Cranium. Kassi had to draw a picture with her eyes closed.
What was it again? :-)

Willie and the Willey's.

Trying to get the corks out of the champagne. Good thing we started early--they were a bit stubborn!

3.....2.....1.....HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We wish everyone a wonderful and happy 2010!!
