Another First Day!

It is hard to believe it is already time for the first day of school!  It just seems like it was yesterday that we were getting out for the summer (really, it does!!).  The kids were all excited for their first day, and all of the "Firsts" that go along with it.

Showing their grade for this year.  How did THAT happen?!

Modeling the new backpacks.  Notice a trend here?

Tanner--6th Grade--A MIDDLE SCHOOLER!!!  How did THAT happen?!?!

Calder--5th Grade.  He reports he loves it!

Makenna--3rd Grade.  She was super excited!

Tearney--2nd Grade--she was super excited too.  She moved up to the next building.  No more going to school with mom.  (Sniff)

The new school shoes!

They all had great days, and every one of them said they are sooo excited for the year to come.  They love their teachers, and classes.  That makes me happy--we couldn't ask for more!

Twas the Day Before School Started

Twas the Day Before School Started
And all over my table, were piles of school supplies waiting to be labeled.
Crayons, markers, pencils, and paper.
Kleenex, notebooks, scissors and erasers.
There were backpacks, and new shoes lined up in a row,
along with new shorts and shirts (hope they don't grow!)

Ready to send my loves off for learning,
Wondering to myself, how could this be?
Just when did they get big enough to go
to yet another school year, and be another year old?

Happy they are, and excitement is on their faces,
so I will gladly take them to exciting, new places!
On to Preschool, 2nd Grade, 3rd, and 5th Grades we go,
New sites including the Middle School--Oh my gosh! WHOA!

They will do great, and will learn everyday,
and soon it will be summer again...Hooray!

Sometimes You Gotta Jump

So, what does a pile of blankets laying on the floor mean to a 3 and 4 year old?  Jumping of course!  Jentree and Mylee were having a blast jumping off of the table into the pile of blankets that I was getting ready to fold up.  Yep, I was the mom who let them continue--truth be told, I wish I would have been able to do it too!  They had a ball!  There were giggles upon giggles!

Happy Birthday Makenna!

Makenna is 9 today!  The years seem to be flying by--wasn't it just yesterday I was posting about her 8th birthday?!

She had a great time at the fair!  This is right before Mutton Bustin'.  She got 3rd place, and the sheep rolled with her!  She got a little bumped up, but when I asked her if she wanted to do it again, she promptly replied, "YES!"

What a young lady she is becoming!  She always has a smile, and is happy almost all of the time.  I think I can count on one hand the number of times she has not been happy go lucky.  She loves being involved-- softball, dance, swimming with friends, playing in the yard-- she loves to be part of the action.
Love you sweetie!  Happy Birthday!

A Little Bling

Makenna has something new.  Can you see it?

Can you see it now?

We were walking in the mall last week, and out of the blue, Tearney asked if she could get her ears pierced.  So, we walked to Claire's to check out what the process would be.  In the time it took to check out the earrings, Tearney backed out, but Makenna was all for it.  She did great!  She was so excited, and loves to show them off!
